We provided structural design services for the renovation of a historic English building from the 1930s, focusing on modernizing the historical structure while preserving its historical integrity. This extensive project encompassed numerous structural enhancements, such as installing an elevator and reinforcing the building for HVAC improvements. We also upgraded the heating, cooling, electrical, and IT systems to comply with 21st-centurystandards. The renovation included bathroom updates, classroom overhauls, restroom relocations, and locker room renovations. Accessibility was a key focus, with improvements made to ensure compliance with current codes. Additionally, we executed a seismic upgrade, reinforced sagging floors, repaired cast stone elements, and restored honeycomb concrete in the basement, balancing modernization with the preservation of historical charm.
