About You
As a Team Lead Structural Engineer, you will head small teams of 4-6 individuals, ensuring excellent project outcomes that surpass client expectations. You will foster the company's values and standards while mentoring team members and overseeing projects. Your role also includes business development, maintaining relationships with clients and partners, and taking charge of your team's financial success.
Core responsibilities include:
- Designing and supervising the creation of complex structures, ensuring compliance with codes and project specifications.
- Oversee the development of BIM models for contract documents.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and conduct site observations.
- Establish project budgets and scopes, effectively communicating with clients and construction teams.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
Requirements
Education and Licensure
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Proven project management experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Complete the 8-hour NCEES Civil-Structural Examination.
- A driver’s license and clean driving record.
Skills & Experience
- Deep understanding of structural engineering principles, including technologies, tools and processes used in the projects being managed.
- Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies to ensure the final product meets code requirements and client expectations.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and guide team members toward achieving project goals.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Has the capacity to identify, analyze, and find solutions to problems that arise during a project.
- Able to negotiate project deliverables, timelines, and resources with clients.
- Flexible and responsive to changes in project requirements, team dynamics, or client needs.
- Able to make sound decisions and exhibit critical thinking abilities that benefit the project or team.
- Ability to assign tasks to team members based on their skills and roles effectively.
